Maryland Automotive Inspection  A Maryland State Inspection should be performed when you are selling a car or you have just moved into the state. It is legal to buy a car without a Maryland State Inspection, though the car must pass the inspection before you can register/title the vehicle. Plus, it is a great safety check to have the car inspected before you purchase a used car, especially when buying from a person rather than a dealer.

We also highly recommend that you have us look the car over by Dave (or another equally trained mechanic), even if it already passed the state safety inspection. Rememer, the safety inspection is the state miniumums, so we can help and ensure everything is running as well as the seller states.

The inspection certificate is good for 90 days; If your car does not pass, you have 30 days to have the items repaired and re-inspected. The full inspection takes about an hour or so and Dave's Corner charges  $70.

For more detailed information and exectly what is covered in the inspection, go to the State of Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration Vehicle Safety Inspection page.

Transmission Flush   Vehicle transmission flushes for most vehicles are $188, with some larger vehicles being a little more because of the transmission's size. Talk to Dave today to about the importance of flushing your transmission, and about setting up an appointment when you and your vehicle can make it in.

Nitrogen Tire Inflation     Pure nitrogen has been used to inflate critical tire applications for years, primarily because it doesn't support moisture or combustion. These include racing tires (IndyCar, Formula 1, NASCAR), aircraft tires (commercial and military) and heavy-duty equipment tires (earthmovers and mining equipment). Nitrogen molecules have a more difficult time escaping through the microscopic spaces that exist between a tire's rubber molecules. Nitrogen is a slow inactive gas labeled as an inert gas due to its nonreactive nature with many materials. On the other hand, oxygen is considered a fast active gas that reacts with many materials, and this reaction is called oxidation. Additionally nitrogen is a dry gas that doesn't support moisture while oxygen combined with hydrogen makes water (H2O).

Dave realizes the importance correclty inflated tires, and he also sees the advantages of tires inflated with nitrogen. Get your tires inflated with pure nitrogen for only $39.95 for a set of four.
